Earlier this year, Gyeongju CVB took part in a MICE expo and incentives roadshow to conduct marketing activities on behalf of our city’s extensive MICE infrastructure. This involved promoting HICO, tour programs, cultural experiences, tourist attractions, and historical sites, including UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Bulguksa Temple, Seokguram Grotto, and Yangdong Folk Village
○ IMEX 2018 In May, we went to Frankfurt, Germany to participate in IMEX 2018 (May 15-17), the worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings, and events. While there, we explored business opportunities with 13 buyers who have an office or are active in the European, North American, and Asian regions. In doing so, we met with academic societies, travel agencies, professional convention organizers, and more.
○ Incentive Roadshow - Hong Kong (April), Bangkok (July) We participated in Incentive Roadshows hosted by the Korea Tourism Organization in Hong Kong and Bangkok, Thailand as part of our efforts to bring more incentive travel events to Gyeongju. The Hong Kong Incentive Roadshow was held on April 17 at the Mira Hong Kong, and gave Gyeongju CVB the chance to discuss business with 15 buyers, including travel agencies and event planners in the Hong Kong region. We also had met with 18 travel agencies, PCOs, and other potential buyers in the Thailand region at the Bangkok Incentive Roadshow on July 5, held at the Radisson Blu Plaza.
